Short Abstract Submission Deadline:
Tuesday, April 30, 2024

Houston, Texas USA is the fourth most populated city in the USA and is known as the Energy Capital of the World. The headquarters for over 20 Fortune 500 companies are in Houston. Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, which is the largest life sciences center in the world and home to Space Center Houston, the official visitor center of the NASA Johnson Space Center. We are looking forwarding to seeing you a this year’s 39th ASPE Annual Meeting. ASPE is soliciting papers in the following broad areas:

  • Controls and Mechatronics
  • Metrology Systems
  • Precision Design
  • Precision Manufacturing
  • Micro-Nano Technologies
  • Surface Characterization and Applications of Measurement Science

Papers addressing other aspects of precision engineering or educational and/or historical aspects of precision engineering are also encouraged.

Short abstracts, which will be reviewed by the organizing committee, are due to ASPE by Tuesday, April 30. The submitted short abstracts are intended for committee review and not publicly available (released). Short abstracts should be 1-2 pages long, not to exceed 2 pages, and should use the ASPE template.

Submission Instructions

Submitting your short abstract is easy and fast. Prepare your short abstract using the ASPE TEMPLATE(docx). The template contains brief, but very detailed instructions on how to format your short abstract. Please take a few moments to read these instructions. View a sample of a short abstract.

Save your short abstract as a PDF file (not to exceed 10MB). Upload your PDF short abstract onto the ONLINE SUBMISSION PORTAL. If you are an ASPE member or a returning user to the ASPE submission site, log in using your ASPE credentials to the portal. If you are a new user, create a user profile so that you can submit your short abstract. Follow the prompts to start your submission.

2024 Student Scholarships

ASPE encourages students who have not been awarded any scholarship from ASPE in the past to apply for Student Scholarships. The scholarships will offset the conference fees, and depending on the scholarship, will offset travel costs with a financial award. Applications are due by Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Students must attend the Annual Meeting in Houston, TX to receive any financial award.

2024 College of Fellows and Early Career Award

The College of Fellows recognizes and honors exceptional members of the Society who have made outstanding contributions to the art and practice of Precision Engineering. The ASPE Early Career Award recognizes important technical contributions from ASPE members who are in the early stages of their careers.  Nominations for these two awards are due by Friday, April 26, 2024.

One of the important commitments of the Annual Meeting is that authors whose papers are accepted provide an extended abstract of 4-6 pages for inclusion in the conference Proceedings. Extended abstracts for accepted papers are expected to be due in late September 2024. Extended abstracts are included as part of the Proceedings published the week of the conference when they are made available to all attendees.
