The TYS airport is about 12 miles south of downtown Knoxville. The majority of events at the 2022 Summer Topical Meeting will be located at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Conference Center or in downtown Knoxville, so it is not necessary to rent a car unless you want to explore Knoxville and the surrounding areas. ASPE will provide transportation to and from the technical tours. There are a number of ground transportation options from the airport to downtown Knoxville or to your hotel:

Major Interstates and Scenic Parkways
Interstate 40 (I-40) runs east-to-west and goes through Tennessee’s three major cities, Knoxville, Nashville and Memphis. It also connects Knoxville to Oak Ridge. Interstate 75 (I-75) runs north-to-south and goes through western Knoxville. I-75 leads the way to Farragut, West Hills and the West Town Mall. Interstate 640 (I-640) is the I-40 bypass and goes around Knoxville.
