In Memory of Henry Duangoupa Arneson

After being diagnosed with and treated for brain cancer at Mayo Clinic, Henry Duangoupa Arneson passed away at the age of 31 years old on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was a passionate engineer and a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. As a young man, he began working with his father and two uncles at Professional Instruments Company before leaving to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota.

Henry continued his education at The Pennsylvania State University under Professor Eric Marsh, earning his Master of Science degree. As the Dr. John H. Bruning Fellow, Henry focused on “Force Characterization of Micro Grinding in Zirconia.” He returned to work at Professional Instruments as an engineer where he excelled in innovative process development. Some of his conquests included 3D printing, laser engraving, optical inspection, complex programming of CNC machines, and attending technical and industrial conferences. Henry also explored numerous personal interests including playing competitive handball, meditation, coming up with clever puns, introducing you to the newest card game or board game, longboarding, and ice-climbing—but most of all was his passion for healthy food and spending time with friends and family.

Henry is survived by his loving wife Rigzin, his parents Dave and Srisuda, his sister Charlotte and his brother Christopher. His dog, Koda, will also miss him dearly. The Minnesota State Handball Association will memorialize Henry in their upcoming tournament on August 12 and a memorial service for friends and family will be held on Sunday, August 13 starting at 10:00 AM local time at Dave and Srisuda’s cabin in Princeton, Minnesota (45°32’06.3″N 93°28’27.6″W).
