Participants will:

  • Design and assemble a flexure-based load cell for millinewton-level force measurement
  • Use a precision capacitance probe for nanometer-scale displacement sensing
  • Integrate a Berkovich indenter to perform nanoindentation experiments to quantify material propertie

This challenge is designed to:

  • Deepen your understanding of precision mechanism design
  • Apply principles of metrology and uncertainty evaluation
  • Develop hands-on experience in sensor integration and feedback control
