Ian Heyman received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2022 and received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2020. Now working as a PhD student in Dr. Lei Zhou’s Precision Mechatronics and Controls Lab (PMCL), Ian is currently designing, building, and testing a new type of magnetically-levitated sample stage for X-ray microscope systems. Outside of school and research, he enjoys listening to and playing music, spending time with friends, bouldering, and exploring Austin. LinkedIn


Anant Jain completed his Bachelors in Engineering Design from IIT-Madras in 2014. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin) under the supervision of Dr SV Sreenivasan.
