Christopher D. Arneson
Professional Instruments Company
Christopher Arneson is a 3rd generation owner and operator at Professional Instruments Company. He’s worked in their precision machine shop since he was 14 and has been there full time since 2017 after he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a business and economics degree. He has been actively participating with ASPE since 2018 and in 2021 served on the Marketing Committee, attends EUSPEN, and is involved with the Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association’s Leadership Council.
Christopher’s experience at Professional Instruments Company involves operating precision grinders, lathes, and milling machines along with assembling ultra precision air bearing spindles. He has travelled extensively with his father, David Arneson, to meet with customers and business leaders to discuss their needs and requirements for nanometer-level air bearing spindles. His responsibilities in the shop involve managing work flow, shop throughput, employee training, manufacturing, assembly, and inspection. His attention to critical details and extreme tolerances should serve him well as Director-at-Large.
As Director-at-Large Christopher aims to assist ASPE’s growth and longevity along with his own professional development. “ASPE has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family owned precision manufacturing company has really fostered a sense of importance around community and I’d like to start giving back to ASPE, in a greater capacity, for the community that it has created for all of us.”
