Join ASPE

With October already upon us, this year’s ASPE conference is fast approaching. As you prepare for the conference, plan to pack some shoes and join us for a guided fun run on Tuesday, October 29th. Runners (and joggers, and walkers) should meet outside of the hotel, under the bridge at Point State Park at 12:15 p.m. The course is about 5 km, and will take participants around the Point, across the Allegheny River, and past local attractions along the North Shore before returning to the Point.

If you can’t join us for the fun run, there are still many opportunities to stretch your legs and experience the outdoors in Pittsburgh.

  • Take a quick walk to see the fountain at Point State Park, and the historic Fort Pitt Blockhouse
  • Explore the extensive riverfront trail network, accessible from the Point and the conference hotel
  • Walk over the Fort Duquesne bridge, see a larger-than-life sculpture of Mr. Rogers, the stadiums of the Pirates and Steelers, and visit one of the nearby brewery tap houses
  • Walk across the Fort Pitt Bridge to the base of Mt. Washington and ride the Duquesne Incline for spectacular views of the city and surrounding neighborhoods.
