Lauren Micklow – North Carolina State University

Lauren Micklow is currently pursuing her M.S. in mechanical engineering from NC State while also working full time as a mechanical engineer at Smart Material Solutions, Inc. There her primary focus is performing tests with and improving upon the nanocoining system. Nanocoining is a patented process to seamlessly indent micro or nanopatterns around the outside of a cylindrical mold. During her undergraduate years at NC State, she was a leading member of their Formula SAE team. While on the team, she learned to weld and machine and honed her design skills.
