31st ASPE Annual Meeting

Portland is in the heart of the high-tech “Silicon Forest” that has a deep appreciation for precision technology.  The Headquarters Hotel, Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront, is situated on the Columbia River with a scenic walkway and easy access to downtown restaurants, coffee shops and pubs.  Edged by both the Columbia and the Willamette rivers, Portland has a downtown with beautiful riverfront parks, spectacular views, and a walkable city center of restaurants offering seasonal menus, shopping, and an active nightlife, all of which can also be reached via the region’s convenient and eco-friendly light-rail system. NSF Grantees

Students who are studying at United States Institutions are supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No 1644838 to attend the 31st Annual Meeting of the American Society for Precision Engineering. Support is in the form of the conference registration fee.  Students who were supported by the NSF Grant wore ribbons denoting this on their badge.  See the names of NSF Student Grantees here.

ASPE is grateful to the National Science Foundation for its support of students to attend the 31st Annual Meeting of the American Society for Precision Engineering. This support provides student participants with opportunities to exchange ideas with leading researchers and engineers from worldwide industrial and governmental facilities, as well as with students and faculty from both domestic and international universities. Student participants will learn the latest research areas and results in precision engineering fields of interest. These opportunities will not only improve the students’ knowledge in the field, but also develop scientists and engineers who are ideally suited to create the next generation of designs in optics, metrology and VSLI manufacturing that will push manufacturing and measurement capabilities.
